I Officially Hate The Rays
CC Fails To Get #20 As Yanks Lose Miserably
Who in the world do the Rays think they are? What is there problem? I have lost all respect for them. What they did to Tex was uncalled for. And that ruined the atmosphere of the whole game. Poor CC. I am so mad at the Rays. I used to have a lot of respect for them, but now I hate them. The Yankees lost 13-4 last night, but that’s not why I hate them.
Pitching Analysis: Oh, CC! What happened?! The poor thing! This was the worst performance I’ve seen from CC. And he didn’t get his win. It’s so sad. CC really struggled last night. He failed to get out of the 3rd inning. CC allowed 9 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits and 5 walks. CC got into bases loaded jams in all 3 innings. He threw 82 stressful pitches. His command was way off, and he just looked uncomfortable. After what happened to Tex, I think CC’s mind changed gears and he just couldn’t execute on his pitches. Whatever the reason, CC was dreadful last night. Usually when a Yankee pitcher stinks, I get angry. But last night, I became pitiful. I felt so bad for CC. It was hard for me to watch such a good pitcher struggle like that. I was relieved when Girardi pulled him. CC was furious with his performance. After being taken out, he violently threw his glove at the water bottles in the dugout. Poor CC.
Oh, CC! I still love you. Don’t be too hard on yourself!
The bullpen actually did a nice job last night, all things considered. Albaladejo, Robertson, Bruney, Coke, Hughes, and Marte pitched. Albaladejo gave up 2 runs, and Robertson and Hughes gave up 1. They knew the game was out of reach, so they just threw strikes. Oh! I just feel awful for CC…..
Defensive Analysis: Tex made a big boo-boo in the 1st. His error forced CC into more of a jam. But you can’t blame the whole thing on Tex. CC obviously didn’t have it last night. And Tex has been superb for us this whole year. I feel bad about what those stupid Rays did to Tex….. Nick Swisher made a Nick Swisher-ish play in the outfield. A sharp liner was hit over Cano’s head and into right field, and as the ball was rolling on the turf, Swish dived for it! But he missed, and Upton wound up with a bases clearing triple. Ahh, Swisher…. Hey that’s another thing I hate about the Rays. Scattered effort. Upton didn’t try all year, and he went 5-5 and hit for the cycle last night? Maybe if he tried this year he would have had a good season.
Offensive Analysis: The offense struggled last night. They only got 4 runs on 6 hits. Melky had an RBI single (Yeah, Leche!), Juan Miranda hit a monster 2-run homer, the 1st of his career, and Ramiro Pena had an RBI single.
I got very mad in the 1st inning. With 2 out and nobody on base, Mark Teixeira came up to the plate. On the first pitch, David Price threw a high hard one that hit Tex in the hand, and he went down. I was terrified. I thought it hit him in the face. It came so close to hitting him there. It hit like off the top of his hand by his jaw, and it bounced away awkwardly as if it hit his face. I was filled with anger. How could they do that to Tex? Why? It was “retaliation” for what happened to Carlos Pena at Yankee Stadium. I think CC was pitching that day. Anyway, Pena tried to check his swing, and the ball happened to hit his hand. Pena’s season was over, but it was not intentional at all. Why would the Yankees want to hit Carlos Pena? The Rays were out of it, and the Yankees wouldn’t want to start random trouble with a respectable man like Pena. Who the f— do the Rays think they are by hitting Tex, such a nice man? That was not good baseball, that was not brushing him off the plate, that was a horrible thing to do. And the Yankees couldn’t retaliate because they can’t afford a suspension or a fight now. It was just the cruelest thing to do. Thank God Tex is okay. I don’t think Girardi is going to let this slide. If he doesn’t do it this weekend, Joe will definitely retaliate next year. I hope he does. Teach those Rays a lesson. I want to see that happen.
It was a very upseting game. CC didn’t get his win and he pitched badly, and that whole little scare with Tex happened. But I did get to see my Cervelli ♥. And the game didn’t mean much because we clinched, unlike the stinky Rays who I now hate. Ha, ha! We are in the postseason and you Rays are not! Maybe if your team actually tried they would make it, but then again the Yankees are so much better so you wouldn’t. It’s kind of weird hating the Rays. I always had respect for them. But now, now there is a rivalry. GO YANKEES!
An Odd Win, And A Not-So-Exciting Loss
Yankees Take 2 of 3 from Royals
That walkoff win was pretty awesome. It was definitely a Drama Club win if I have ever seen one! In last night’s loss, the Yankees looked a bit tired. On Tuesday the Yankees won 4-3, and last night they lost 4-3.
The Win
Pitching Analysis: A.J. Burnett beasted it Tuesday night. He was great!!! He was spotting his fastball, and used that curve to his advantage. I think I am ready to fully trust A.J. again. Whethere he is the #2 or #3 starter in the postseason, I think he will do a fine job. Yeah, A.J.!
I love him!
Phil Coke (he signed my baseball!) pitched well in the 7th, it was his defense that was gross. David Robertson returned on Tuesday. He recorded 2 outs in the 7th, walked Callaspo,and was pulled for Bruney. He looked good, his velocity was there, and I was glad to see him back. Bruney did a nice job as well.
Defensive Analysis: Phil Coke’s horrible defense was the reason the walkoff was needed. He took too long to field the bunt, and it wound up being a single. Then, with first and second and 1 out, he got a comebacker, which he threw into left field! A run scored, and now the Royals had a 2-1 lead. Then another comebacker was hit to him, and instead of throwing home, he threw to first! COKE! What was wrong with you? You pitched great, but your defense! Ugh! At least we won that game.
Offensive Analysis: These Yankees have a LOT of power, and they seem like they can always come back. Tex hit a solo homer in the 6th to tie the game at 1. In the 7th, Swish led off with a solo homer, cutting the deficit to 3-2. the 9th is where the magic happened.
Ex-Yankee Kyle Farnsworth was called upon to nail down the save for the Royals. But a Yankee rally was on its way. My darling-baby Francisco Cervelli got himself a 1-out single to start the rally. Eric Hinske pinch-hit, and he got a single, moving Cervelli to 3rd. Hinske (he signed my baseball!) then surprisingly stole 2nd! The throw went wild, and Hinske went to 3rd as Cervelli scored, knotting the score at 3-3. Johnny Damon was intentionally walked to get to Juan Miranda. I was thinking that Tex was on deck, but he was taken out. It was going to be Miranda. I was thinking, “Miranda? Oh, this kid isn’t gonna do anything. It’s too much pressure. Well, with 1 out, all he has to do is put the ball in play….I hope he doesn’t strike out…” Obviously, Miranda heard me. All he had to do was put the ball in play, and the Yankee Stadium Magic would take care of the rest. And that’s what happened.

Miranda hit a sharp comebacker to Farsworth, and off the bat I was thinking, “Oh sh!t. This won’t get the job done.” But then the Yankee Stadium Magic took over. The ball hit off Farsworth’s foot, and began heading for foul territory! And it was a fair ball! Farnsworth raced toward the ball, and Miranda hustled toward the bag. Miranda won. The dugout emptied, he got pied, and the Yankees won 4-3. It was odd, but I loved it.

The Loss
Pitching Analysis: Joba Chamberlain started last night, and he really disappointed me. He only went 3 & 2/3 innings, and allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, and he threw 91 pitches. That’s a little ridiculous. I expected better things from Joba last night. He didn’t make me too happy.

Aceves, Albaladejo (he signed my baseball!), Marte, Mitre (♥I♥love♥this♥guy♥), Hughes and Mo all pitched in relief last night. I had a big history test to study for last night. I set time aside for it, and since nothing spectacular was happening in the game last night, I was going to study for a long time. On my way to my room to study, I heard, “And Mitre will get off the bench, and he will come in to pitch.”
I stopped in my tracks. My thoughts: “Mitre? Tonight? Right now? But the test, it’s my first one and I know it will be hard. But Mitre! He’s hot and I love him and it could be the last time I see him. AAAAHH!!! What do I do? Do I drool over that sexy-thang and wind up flunking tomorrow, or do I study and miss my baby? I only had a short time to decide, the commercials are short between pitching changes. Although I like my history teacher and would love to do well, I like Mitre more. I watched him. I just studied after. I made such a big deal about that decision. I just studied after Mitre pitched. I won both ways!
Defensive Analysis: Now I love Nick Swisher, but when Mitre was pitching in the 7th, what happened on that play? John Buck hit a deep fly ball to right, and Swish looked as if he was going to make the play. But he turned and switched directions, and the ball fell. Then he was lying there on the ground, and tried to roll the ball over to Melky. It was a disaster. Buck wound up with an RBI triple, and Mitre gave up a run. But it was charged to Marte, so I was not as annoyed. That run was the difference in the game. Oh well. You can’t win them all.
Offensive Analysis: The offense was quite dead last night. 3 runs on 5 hits. Jeet had a solo homer and Swish had a 2-run shot, but that was it. They looked tired last night. Whatever.
We won the series. And we clinched awhile ago! I love the way that sounds! The heroes for the victory on Tuesday are A.J. Burnett for his stellar performance, and his pieing, Eric Hinske, for that timely stolen base that set the whole thing up, and Juan Miranda, for putting the ball in play and letting the magic take over. That was the last regular season game in the Bronx. I believe that the new stadium is going to provide the Yankees with a huge homefield advantage. I can’t wait! I’m, getting so excited!!! GO YANKEES!!!!!!
One Step Closer!
Yanks Beat Sox, Magic Number Down To 3!
From the beginning I had a feeling the Yankees were going to win last night. It was kind of a “Drama Club” win; any win versus the Red Sox is dramatic. It was a good game. Joba was solid, and the offense exploded. The Yankees beat the Smelly Sox 9-5.
Pitching Analysis: Joba Chamberlain really stepped up last night. He pitched a nice ballgame. Joba was perfect through 3 & 2/3 innings. In total, he went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5 along the way. It was a quality start for Joba. I think he was very sharp yesterday. He listened to Jane’s advice and didn’t walk around the mound for five hours. He threw the ball, got the ball, and was ready to throw again. He looked mean, intimidating, and dominant as he stared in at the Red Sox hitters. It was a Joba well done!
Nice job, Joba!
Aceves, Albaladejo, Marte, Hughes, and Coke finished out the game. Albaladejo gave up 2 runs in 1/3 of an inning, but the rest of the ‘pen was great.
Defensive Analysis: The defense was soild as usual last night. Johnny Damon made an error, but whatever. I love Johnny. He should definitely come back next year. Nick Swisher made a Nick Swisher-ish play in right field. In the 2nd inning, Swish made a funky sliding catch on an Ortiz liner. I couldn’t really tell if the slide was necessary, but you know Nick Swisher. He loves to show off. Oh, NickySwish…It was a nice play, and it led Joba to a 1-2-3, 10 pitch 2nd inning.
Offensive Analysis: The offense exploded last night. The Yanks scored 9 runs on 14 hits. I love it when they hit well. But what I really enjoyed seeing last night was the running game. The Yankees stole a season-high 7 bases last night. That is my favorite aspect of the game. Stealing bases creates potential run-scoring situations, and it forces the opposing team to make the plays. It is the most exciting part of the game, in my opinion. I wish the Yanks would do it more often. It was fun to watch. Watching the Red Sox captain Jason Varitek fail and fail again and again at throwing out runners, I love it!
In the 3rd, something awful happened. My man Melky hit a line drive right off of Jon Lester’s knee. Lester went down, and did not get up. Melky reached with an RBI infield single, but everyone’s concern was on Lester. I really felt bad. Now I despise the Red Sox, but I didn’t get any thrill in seeing Lester in pain like that. He’s just a kid, and he has battled through a lot to get where he is today. I hope he is okay and not in too much pain.
Poor Lester…I hope he is okay…why couldn’t it have hit Pukilis? Everyone hates him.
Alex Rodriguez had a huge night at the plate. He was 3-3 with 4 RBI’s, including a monster 2-run homer into the second deck in left. Nice to see him contributing so much. He has been very clutch this year. I hope he does something extremely clutch in the postseason, so all the fans will forever love him.

It was a nice win for the Yanks last night. The magic number is now 3. We are 1 step closer, boys! The heroes for the victory are Alex Rodriguez, for his offensive explosion, and Joba Chamberlain, for proving he CAN pitch well. The Yankees now have a 6.5 game lead over the Smelly Sox who cheat at Fenway. I can’t wait for the postseason! I’m thinkin’ my Yanks have a pretty fair shot at #27 this year. I pray that I am right. Pinch Me, I MUST Be Dreaming!!!
Yanks Win Series In Anaheim
OMG. They did it. They actually did it. I must be dreaming. For the first time since May of 2004, my Yankees won a series in hell on earth Anaheim. It’s unvelievable. Especially since we lost the first game. Winning this series is a huge confidence booster not only for me, but for the Yankees. They play the Smelly Sox tomorrow in the Bronx, and hopefully momentum is on their side. The Yankees beat the Angels in a somewhat Drama Club fashion yesterday by the score of 3-2.
Pitching Analysis: A.J. Burnett started for the Yanks yesterday, looking to put together a string of solid starts. A.J. was beyond solid yesterday. He went 5 & 2/3 innings of 2 run ball, and struckout 11! THAT is the A.J. I’ve grown to know and love! His fastball was working, and that curve was working, too, putting the hitters out of whack. Nice job, A.J.! This is the PERFECT time to get hot! No one will care about those bad starts, as long as you perform in October!

When I said the Yankees won in Drama Club fashion, I meant Drama Club pitching wise. The bullpen was absolutely fantastic yesterday. Marte, Albaladejo, Coke, Kennedy, and Mo combined for a scorless game of relief. Ian Kennedy made his comeback! I was glad to see him. What a story for this kid. I was glad to see him, but I wasn’t sure that I wanted him to pitch right then and there. He loaded the bases, and I could barely watch. I was hoping Girardi would take him out, but he didn’t. It was Ian’s jam, and Ian’s inning. Ian wound up getting out of the inning unscathed, which must have boosted his confidence quite a bit. Good for him.
Defensive Analysis: The defense was solid yesterday. Good pitching, good defense. They go hand-in-hand. Cano started a lovely 4-6-3 double play. The Yankees have the best infield in baseball.
Offensive Analysis: The Yankees only got 7 hits. But that translated to 3 runs. The bats were quiet through the first 3 innings, but they got on the board in the 4th. Robinson Cano, who we all know NOT to be clutch, game through. He had a 2-run single to give the Yanks a 2-0 lead. Yeah, Robbie! My man Melky contributed with an RBI hit of his own in the 4th. I just feel like saying this: Melky Cabrera is awesome! He is so clutch and always seems to come through for the Yanks this year! I LOVE YOU, LECHE!!! Thanks to Melky, the Yankees now had a 3-0 lead. They went on to win it 3-2.

It was another playoff-feeling game yesterday. The kind of game that gives me agida on ever pitch. From the 6th inning on when it was 3-2, every pitch meant SO much. It was such an exciting game, even though there was not much offense. Good pitching is just as fun to watch. That brings us to our heroes for the victory: they are A.J. Burnett, for another dominating start, the Yankee bullpen, for holding the lead and letting us win, and Robbie Cano, for that clutch 2-run single. I must be dreaming. We won this series! It is amazing! Or maybe, maybe the Yankees are just good. No. YES!!! Despite that little slump, we are still the best team in baseball.
The Smelly Sox who cheat at fenway are coming to the Bronx today. Since today is an off-day, that means I won’t have a game to blog about tomorrow. Hmm…I could to another cutie post, possibly. Sounds good. I don’t know what it will be, but I’m going to try and do another cutie post for all you cutie-lovers out there. Tomorrow is the pep rally at my school. GO JUNIORS!!! CLASS OF 2011!!! Yeah! I have school spirit! But I have more Yankee spirit. GO YANKEES!!! BEAT THOSE SMELLY SOX TOMORROW!!! Hahaha. I love my team (♥)
PANIC MODE!!!!!……Breathe In,….Breathe Out….
Yankees Lose Again! AAAHHH!!!!
……-deep breath-…..-sigh-…..I’m beginning to panic…..I know we have a lead, but I am still beginning to panic….it doesn’t look good right now….my Yanks are 4-6 in their last 10 games…our offense has been dead…..our bullpen has been bad….aaahhhh!…..what’s happening to my Yankees?!?!…..slumping?….NOW?…..get it together, boys….get it together,….for the sake of my well-being…..just get it together…The Yankees lost….to the Angels last night…5-2…..and I am freaking out….I need to pull myself together….I’m gonna make this short because….if I think about it for too long….I don’t know what will happen to me….
Pitching Analysis: Andy…Pettitte…okay enough with the dots for now. Andy started last night after missing a start due to shoulder fatigue. He gave up 2 runs in the first, and I then gave up on the game. But Andy did fairly well last night. He went 6 innings of 3-run ball. That’s a quality start. But the Yankees didn’t take advantage of it. The bullpen did not do the job last night. Bruney and Albaladejo gave up a run in each of their inning of work. Not too good, boys.

Offensive Analysis: Where are the Bronx Bombers? Where is the Drama Club? Where is the offensive explosion I have grown accustomed to? The Yankees only managed 2 runs last night, solo homers by Arod and Matsui. The Yankees only had 3 situations with runners in scoring position, and they were 0-3. First of all, when you know you aren’t hitting, you HAVE to get the big hit with runners in scoring position. If you can’t seem to get on base, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! Try to bunt! Or just lean in and let it clip the elbow! Make it happen! It’s frustrating to watch when the offense is dead and no one does anything about it. I’m sure they were trying, but seriously. They need to play like it is the postseason. Play hard, play like it is the last game ever. Win, win WIN!!!!
Godzilla homered, but Yanks couldn’t come back.
Do I have the right to panic? I know we have a 5 game lead over the smelly sox who cheat at Fenway, but I am still worried. We play the Red Sox this weekend. We have to win. YANKEES! PLEASE! STOP SLUMPING! THIS IS NOT HEALTHY FOR ME! I DON’T NEED STRESS LIKE THIS!!! Please win for me, I don’t want to die. I am too young for death. My heart is going to crumble if this continues. Come on, Yanks. You are a great club. This is not you; you are way better than this. Play that way. I still love you guys. Especially you, Sergio 😉 I still believe in you, Yanks, I am just panicking. A win tonight will help me. GO YANKEES! I LOVE YOU ALL THE WAY, BOYS!
The Bombers Bombed Again!

Last night’s game was a nice bounce-back win. On Friday, the only offense for the Yanks came from 2 sac flies, 1 by Arod and 1 by Tex in that 3-2 loss. But last night was different. The Yankees went on another offensive explosion as they beat the Mariners 10-1.
Pitching Analysis: C “Cy” Sabathia was superb again last night. He went 7 innings of 1-run ball, and he struck out 8. CC now has 18 wins. I believe he deserves the Cy Young award. He has went above and beyond my expectations for him. Every week, he goes out there and throws 7 or 8 beyond quality innings. Even when he doesn’t have his best stuff, CC takes the ball and still manages to go deep into the game, allowing minimal damage. And his presence in the clubhouse makes a world of difference to this club. CC is as great a guy as he is a pitcher. I really think he should win the Cy Young, but that’s just me.
CC was excellent. A liner hit him right below the Adam’s Apple, but he toughed it out. CC rocks!
Brian Bruney, who changed his number from 38 to 99, pitched a scoreless 8th. Jonathan Albaladejo pitched a scoreless 9th. His eyes are looking a bit better. The pitching was fabulous last night. It was fabulous on Friday, but A.J. did not get a win because of that blown save incident. But at least he is coming around. If CC and A.J. can be sharp going into October, I believe the Yanks have a great shot at going all the way. When they are on, they are the best 1-2 starters in baseball.
Defensive Analysis: The defense was solid once again. Arod made an error, but it didn’t cost anything. I remember he made a great play on a slow roller, which he barehanded and fired to Tex. But the runner was safe. It was still an incredible play just to make it close. My man Francisco Cervelli looked soooo cute behind the plate last night. Everything he does is cute. He showed off his arm last night, chasing Beltre back to second base. When Beltre tried to steal third, Cervelli used his cannon arm and fired a rocket strike to Arod. The ball beat Beltre there, but it got knocked out of Alex’s glove. That’s okay, Cervelli. “A” for effort, you cute thing, you!
Offensive Analysis: The Bronx Bombers bombed in Seattle last night, that’s for sure. 10 runs on 18 hits. Tex had 2 homers and 5 RBI’s. My Cervelli had a nice night at the plate; he went 2 for 4 with an RBI of his own. There was a lot of offense last night.

The Yankees played good baseball last night, and unlike Friday night, the results showed it with a “W”. The heroes for the victory are CC Sabathia for his stellar performance once again, Francisco Cervelli, just because I love him so much, and Mark Teixeira, for his 2 homers, his triple, his 5 ribis, and his cute face. The Yankees still have a 6 game lead over the Red Sox who cheat at Fenway. But those Smelly Sox were in Baltimore last night, so I guess they won fair and square. The season is winding down. It is very sad. I love baseball and I love my Yankees and I am going to miss them more that anything when the season is over. I guess they just jave to win the World Series for me, so the offseason is shorter. Hear that, boys? Go all the way this year. I want #27! GO YANKEES!!!!!!

Another Thing I Will Never Forget On 9/11
I don’t even care that the Yankees lost. It doesn’t mean a thing to me. What I witnessed last night is something I will never forget. 2722. The Yankees lost 10-4, but no one cares about that. Derek Jeter is the story.
Pitching Analysis: Andy Pettitte started for the Yanks last night after an hour and 27 minute rain delay. He was not too sharp. He only went 5 innings and threw too many pitches. Damaso Marte relieved him in the 6th, and he blew the lead. He just had no command. It was Marte’s first bad start since coming off the DL. Albaladejo and Ramirez pitched also, but I stopped watching after that. The pitching was not good at all yesterday, which is why we lost. But whatever. I saw history!!!

Defensive Analysis: No one really cares about anything but Jeter’s story last night, but there was some nice defense last night. With the bases loaded and 1 out in the 5th, Andy made a great play on a comebacker to get the force at home. Then Cano made a gorgeous play ranging to the glove side on the outfield grass to field te grounder. He fired to Tex for the out. It was a nice defensive inning.
Offensive Analysis: Alex Rodriguez hit a 2 out 3-run homer in the first. It was very clutch. Arod has been very clutch lately. Keep it up!
History happened in the 3rd. After striking out in the 1st, Jeet came up in the 3rd. With a 2-0 count, Jeter, with his patented Jetarian inside-out swing, drove a ball into right field. How appropriate. The crowd went wild, and I was almost in tears in front of my tv. It was beautiful. The team went out on the field to congradulate him. Jeter received genuine hugs from the whole team. Right there I wished I was Jeter. Getting hugged by Cervelli, Tex, Mitre (♥♥♥) and the rest of the guys. I was a bit jealous of that. Anyway, after the hugs, Jeter tipped his helmet to the still-roaring crowd. They showed Mom, Dad, and girlfriend Minka Kelly celebrating. Then Jeter tipped his helmet again, and the crowd got even louder, if that was possible. The crowd would not stop. They were still cheering throughout Swisher’s at-bat. It was over 2 and a half minutes of a standing ovation. The “Derek Jeter” chants started up again later in the inning. It was just the perfect moment, and it couldn’t have happened to a more perfect man. CONGRADULATIONS, DEREK!!! YOU ARE THE YANKEES!!!!

The Yankees got another run in the 4th, an RBI single by Jeter. Every hit he gets from now on is going to set a new record. I am so proud to have Derek Jeter on my Yankees. He is the best player in baseball. Don’t lie, you all know he is. Just admit it. DEREK JETER IS THE BEST PLAYER IN BASEBALL!!!

The Yankees lost, but no one cares. Derek Jeter is the hero. He will always be the hero. I love Derek, and I hope he plays baseball forever. He is the most iconic figure in baseball today. He is the best player I have ever seen. Derek, I love you and I am SO glad that you are a part of my team and my life.
The Rest Of The Series With The Rays
It Was A Good One!
The two games after the doubleheader between the Yankees and the Rays were both great. We won both, so we swept the Rays. The Yankees were definitely the Drama Club in both of the final 2 games. On Tuesday the Yanks won in walkoff fashion by the score of 3-2. Yesterday, they won 4-2, and history was made.
Pitching Analysis: Chad Gaudin started for the Yanks on Tuesday. To our surprise, he was great. Gaudin cruised through 6 innings without allowing a run. I was proud of him. Who would have thought that Chad Gaudin could give us innings, quality, shutout innings?! When he went back on the mound for the 7th, he was not as sharp. He allowed a solo homer to Longoria, a single to Zobrist, and a walk to Burrell. Girardi decided that was all for Gaudin, and called on Marte to get the job done. Marte did his job well. In the 8th, Phil Hughes actually allowed a run, a homer off the bat of Bartlett. That tied the game at 2. Mo had a 1-2-3 9th, and the Yanks went on to win that game in walkoff fashion.

Last night it was Joba’s turn, and he was not too good, but not too bad. He went just 3 innings, and threw way too many pitches. Joba just is not the same pitcher. He probably can’t wait until next year when he can just be free and pitch like a pitcher should. He allowed 2 runs in the 1st. He got into a jam later, but escaped it thanks to the strikeout. Not his best start, but not his worst. The bullpen did a fabulous job last night. Aceves, Albaladejo, Bruney, and Coke held the score right where it was and gave the Yankees a chance to come back, which they did.
Defensive Analysis: I don’t remember anything outstanding or upseting about the defense, so I’m sure the Yankees were solid as they usually are. This team gets credit for the offense and power numbers, the pitching, but the defense is quite underrated. The Yankees are just amazing in every way.
Offensive Analysis: On Tuesday, there was not much offense for the Yanks. But there was enough to win. Nick Swisher had a solo homer in the 2nd, and it was quite a bomb. Arod had an RBI single in the 6th to make it 2-0. After the Rays tied it up in the 8th, the Yankees failed to score in the bottom of the 8th. The only way to win was a walkoff. Who wanted pie? His name rhymes with Mick Wisher. In the bottom of the 9th, Swishy came up to the plate. He hit another solo homer, this one to end the game. Walkoff!!! He was SO genuinely happy, and it made me smile to see a grown man so happy and running around the bases with a smile. When he got pied by A.J., he proudly showed the fans and held his arms up in the air. Victory! I always wanted to see Swish get pied. It was worth the wait. The look on his face after he got pied was priceless. Congradulations, Swish.
Last night, the offense came through when it had to. Jeter had some hits last night, and one of those hits tied him with Lou Gehrig for first on the Yankee’s all-time hits leaders list. I can’t believe that. Derek Jeter? We take him for granted. We need to soak up the moment just as he does, because it really is something else. We are witnessing arguably the best player to ever play the game. He has a great shot at breaking Rose’s record, he is well ahead of his pace. I would love to see that happen.

The Yankees were losing at the time of Jeter’s milestone. I thought it was a game they had to win. Apparently, so did Jeet’s buddy Jorge. Jorge hit a 3-run homer in the 8th to give the Yankees a 4-2 lead. They held on to win it.
Jorge knew Jeet wouldn’t be happy unless the Yanks won. What a friend.
It was an amazing game last night, and one that I will never forget. I will never forget Jeet’s inside-out swing that directed the ball into right field for a single. He has done that so many times, and that record-tying hit will stay in my mind forever.
Another sweep for the Yanks. The final two games were very good ones. The heroes for Tuesday’s game are Chad Gaudin and Nick Swisher. For last night, the heroes are the Yankee bullpen, Jorge Posada, and Derek Jeter. The Yankees have a 9 game lead over the Red Sox, and I am just absolutely LOVING life as a Yankee fan. I love this team so much. I really feel like they are so close to me. They really play a significant role in my life. I see them every day I can, and I long to be seeing them when I am not. I feel like I know them. Only 20 something games left, and then the postseason. But I am really going to miss these guys. I really do love them. Just ask anyone in my school, they’ll tell you 🙂
Yanks Take Two!!!
Yanks Win Both Games. And I Am Filled With Smiles!!!
Ahhh…We won both games. How comforting. We pitched well, we actually caught the ball, and the offense was great. And somebody sent me something which I am wearing right now. I thank that somebody 🙂 The Yankees won the first game 4-1 and the second game 11-1.
Pitching Analysis: CC pitched game 1, and he was awesome and worth the money as always. He pitched 7 innings of 1-run ball, that one coming off the bat of Evan Longoria and his solo homer. He got into a few jams, but he made it out via the strikeout. It was a great game for CC. Hughes pitched the 8th, and Mo pitched the 9th.
CC is a beast.
Game 2 was A.J.’s turn. I was wondering which A.J. would show up. The stinky I-can’t-locate-my-fastball A.J., or the A.J. with the great fastball and the nasty curve. Well, in the 1st inning, A.J. allowed a run. Darn. The stinky A.J. was pitching. But wait! He turned things around and did not allow a run for the rest of the game! Hooray! A.J. is back! This could be the perfect time for him to heat up….going down the final stretch…gett’n ready for the POSTSEASON!!! Perfect timing, A.J.

Edwar Ramirez pitched next, followed by a Jonathan Albaladejo with weird eyes (poor thing!) and the nervous kid Michael Dunn finished out the game. The pitching was fabulous, as usual.
Defensive Analysis: Unlike the other day, the Yankees actually caught the ball! Wow! I gues everyone just had their bad day on the same day. But in both games yesterday, the defense was great. Brett Gardner made himself right at home in centerfield in game 1….even though that catch was in right field. In the 4th inning of game 1, Brett ran all the way into deep right field, and made a dive/slide to rob the Ray of a double. It was the right fielder’s ball, but I was glad to see Gardy make the play. Way to go Brettiboo!!!

Offensive Analysis: In game 1, the offense looked a bit sluggish. Arod had a great day at the plate, but before the 8th, no one else was hitting well. But the 8th is where is all changed. Swish led off with a walk, and thanks to Tex it was 2nd and 3rd none out. Arod was intentionally walked, Cano got a sac fly, Jorge singled, and Hinske got a sac fly. It was 4-1, and the Yankees won it by that score.
In game 2, the offense exploded again. The Yankees had an 8 run 3rd inning. They tacked on more later. Everyone was hitting, accept the guy we all wanted to hit. Jeet was hitless for both games. Poor guy. He is stressing a bit, it is obvious. Don’t panic, Jeet! We LOVE you!!! Mark Teixeira had 2 homers, Melky had 3 hits, the lineup was on fire!

I saw my Cervelli baby again. I was a bit angry at Girardi for not letting Cervelli start one of the games, but whatever. At least I saw him…sooo cute….yeah…
It was a great day for the Yanks. 2 wins in 1 day is pretty darn good. The heroes for game 1 are CC, the bullpen, and Arod. For game 2, the heroes are A.J., Tex, and Melky. It was another fun day to be a Yankee fan. And because of these wins, and the Red Sox loss, the Yankees now have an EXTREMELY COZY 9 GAME LEAD!!!!! WAHOOO!!!! The Smelly Sox are running out of time. That is awesome. I smell something….a championship, maybe? I’ve been waiting for awhile…I hope this is the year. GO YANKEES!!!!!!

What A Boring Game
Yanks are 1-Hit Versus Jays
Last night’s game was the most boring game I have seen all year. Nothing good happened for the Yankees. It was very frustrating. Ugh. The Yankees’ winning streak was snapped last night as they lost to the Blue Jays 6-0.
Pitching Analysis: Joba Chamberlain had another short start for the Yankees. He did not pitch well. He went 3 innings and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. He threw about 60 pitches. Do the math and that is 20 pitches per inning. That is unacceptible. After 3 innings, Mark Melancon took over and gave up 1 run in 2 innings. He was absolutely wild. He hit like 10 batters. He could not control anything he put inside. Jonathan Albaladejo went next, and he pitched a scoreless inning. Michael Dunn pitched next, and by this time I wasn’t watching. He gave up 2 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Last came Edwar Ramirez, who pitched a scoreless inning and a third. The pitching wasn’t great last night, but all the Jays needed to win was 1 run.

Defensive Analysis: The defense didn’t help Joba out too much. There were plays that should have been made that the defense screwed up. In the first inning, Aaron Hill hit a ball to deep right that Hinske ran to get under. He jumped, and the ball went off his glove. Hill had a double. It was not the easiest play to make, but I am confident that Swisher would have made it, however silly he had to be to glove it. Later in the inning, Ramiro Pena made an error on a routine grounder. He lifted his glove, anticipating a high hop on the artificial turf, but instead the ball stayed down and got through, allowing a run to score. It was not a pretty defensive night for the Yanks.

Offensive Analysis: Where were the Bombers last night? The Yankees looked dead at the plate. The only hit was off the bat of Ramiro Pena. That was it, accept for 3 walks scattered into the lineup. The Yankees failed to make adjustments last night. They stared at strikes, fell behind, and wound up striking out. It was awful and upseting to watch, which is why I didn’t watch the whole game. After 6 innings I called it quits. 1 hit? Come on.
It was an ugly game all around last night. But luckily, the Red Sox lost. That must kill them. The Yankees finally lost a game, and then they lose too. Ha. I guess the Yankee loss was not so bad. I mean, they didn’t play well, but it didn’t cost them anything. It cost me time, though. It was boring. Whatever. I am sure the Yankees will bounce back with another 7 game winning streak. It seems like they always do. 1 loss in every 8 games? Hey, I’ll take it. GO YANKEES!!!
